Anonymous: i admire sally mann too! what did she say in her email to you?

Forgive me, but I don’t feel comfortable disclosing the contents of her email online. It’s just that people have shared emails or letters I’ve sent to them before, with others, without permission, and frankly, it’s always made me feel slightly violated. After all, what I wrote, was meant for their eyes, even if it wasn’t particularly private business. I will give you a little tidbit though, she told me she never ever Googles herself. She’s furthermore, quite gracious and has a delightfully wry sense of humor. I’m glad you admire her, as well, I definitely believe she’s worthy of admiration!

So, so, so overjoyed!

Just received an email from Sally Mann! My heart is all exclamation marks right now. There are few artists I respect and admire as much as her, and she’s such a defining figure in fine art, I am so, so, so overjoyed.
